handmade NATION
I took the train down to DC Thursday to see Faith Levine's new documentary, Handmade Nation. She traveled over 19000 miles interviewing over 50 independent artists to make this film. I had the pleasure of meeting Faith at the Renwick Gallery Thursday. She is a wonderful, inspiring lady and her film takes after her. Her advice to an artist starting a business is, get involved locally and make sure you have a presence on line. Film available in September via buyolympia.com. Her book is on amazon.com.

Artscape at the H&H
Our neighbors at the H&H building have put together some great art for this weekend that will surprise you and inspire you. You will be actually glad you climbed the stairs in the summer heat...from the engineering miracle of a dry wall hammock to some of the largest paper cuts you've ever seen. Don't miss it! (warning: elevator out of order)

New Tommy Tucker CD!
I have done CD covers in the past, but Tommy Tucker's Green is Gold was an especially interesting project for me. I have always been inspired by music plus it was a fun challenge working with the preexisting drawing Tommy had made and find a way to make all the elements come together.
Released at the Metro Gallery, Baltimore, MD June 20th. Portrait drawing by Tommy Mayer, Text on back cover by Scott Dennison. All other drawing, screen printing, design by myself.
